Meet the Team
Director, Lead Agent, Auctioneer
Livestock & Real Estate
Growing up Jason always knew he wanted to stay involved in the cattle industry. Born in Kingaroy, Jason spent his early years on the family property at Gordonbrook just west of Kingaroy before his family relocated to Augathella in western QLD to manage a property, when Jason was 10 years old. Some of Jason’s earliest memories include trucking cattle with his father from the Augathella property and then later their property at Morven, to the Roma Saleyards. Once Jason completed school, he worked on the family cattle property until it was sold in 2007. For extra income Jason become a roustabout and later a shearer working in many shearing sheds around the Morven and Mitchell District and during quiet times Jason would go contract mustering in the Northern Territory.
For the next decade Jason worked around the Darling Downs and into the Burnett on Feedlots, livestock properties and at the local Dalby and Coolabunia saleyards. The opportunity arose for Jason to start his career as a Livestock Agent and Auctioneer in Murgon in 2016, before starting his own franchise agency in 2018 and by mid-2020 Wicks and Co Agencies was born.
Jason is passionate about livestock sales and uses a hands-on approach with his clients. When not at the sale yards Jason enjoys being on property in your yards helping make informed decisions for marketing your livestock. Jason prides himself on offering professional, honest and reliable market information to his clients and holds a great rapport with the many local buyers and processors, which allows for greater marketing options through the saleyards or private sales. Jason is driven to achieve the best results possible for his clients through innovative personalised marketing.
“One of the things that I enjoy most about being an agent, is that for me it isn’t a job. I get to do what I love, selling livestock and properties whilst building relationships with my clients.”
Family time is especially important to Jason and on his rare days off he enjoys being at home, watching the kids play sport, or just spending quality time with his wife Amy and their three children in front of a campfire or the weekend BBQ.
